i’ve been in Norway for the past three months growing leadership skills, developing as a man of character, learning from missionaries and leaders around the world, fellowshipping with my community and praying for the nations of the world. now i get to put all of this to use by going back to YWAM Kona, this time as a leader, and disciple students, and taking them to share the gospel to unreached peoples in closed nations. my co-leader and i will be leading a team to Turkey for 3 months after a 3 month lecture phase in Kona, when our students are equipped and their hearts are burning for the people of Turkey. i’m extremely eager and expectant for what God will do in the people of Turkey encountering Jesus as they hear the gospel from a bunch of 20 year olds, and to see what will happen in the hearts of our students as we pursue the heart of God and do everything we can to bring His will to earth as it is in heaven.
after my DTS, as i thought about who was the most impacted from this 6 month period of radical, life-altering pursuit of Christ. it occurred to me that the student body was for sure the most changed and closest to Jesus. after all, the name alone describes this, Discipleship Training School, DTS.. nonetheless, coming back from my first outreach and seeing all the change that had took place in my fellow students was awesome. there were loads of testimonies of the people we met in the nations encountering Jesus, and giving their lives to him, and lots of other miracles that took place around the world, but the thing that stood out to me was how the students grew. God had really done a work in us all and used our staff to invite us into deeper life in Christ, challenge us to obey Him and leave us empowered as believers and missionaries. that’s what it’s all about.. that’s why i’m coming back to staff with YWAM. to partner with God, lead His people into the vibrant lives God has for them and go out and change the world together. to know God, and make Him known.
